Whether you're using a phone or a camera, I'll guide you step by step so you actually understand what you're doing.

Now you've started taking photos, the next step is knowing what to look for. This session trains your eye to see the shot before you take it, and understand what makes an image work.

We'll keep it simple, focusing on framing, light and what's going on in the background. You'll also start working on portraits, photographing each other and getting comfortable with people in front of the camera. I'll guide you as we go with small adjustments that make a big difference.

Bring your camera or phone and we'll practice together.

Session 3: Get Your Camera Out – Knaresborough Photo Walk

Saturday 12 September
Knaresborough - 10am - 2.0 Hours

Most people feel a bit uncomfortable photographing people. In this session we start simple: observing and shooting from a distance, then when you're ready we take that next step.

I'll show you how to approach people naturally, how to ask, and how to handle it if they say no. That's part of it, and it's nothing to worry about.

After a couple of goes, you'll start capturing real moments, real people, and real stories. Bring your camera or phone and we'll practice together.

Really helped me get to grips with the Magic Circle which will help me as I try more Amigurumi patterns. Also gave me more confidence in being able to read a written pattern (which I'd not used before)

We really enjoyed it. Having less staff to participant ratio would have helped as there were some total beginners in the group who took up (understandably) a lot of teaching time. Lucy managed this as well as she could but having someone else to assist her would have helped us. Overall we enjoyed the class and have booked onto the amigurumi class in May x
